How about getting your son a book on dog training or a subscription to a dog training magazine? Another idea is to get him a gift card to a local dog training class, or even signing him up for a new class to learn a new technique or skill. If your son likes to train with his own dog, you could also consider gifting him a new dog training tool, such as a special leash, clicker, or treat bag. If he's really passionate about it, you could even surprise him with a new puppy (if you're able to) and enroll both of them in a class together.
